  1.    This file shows the improvements from one release of Pro Port Analyzer
  2. Plus to the next. Please let us know if you have suggestions for additional
  3. improvements:

  5. Version 1.00
  6.    *  First Commercial Release.
  7.  
  8. Version 1.10 (Released November 19, 1992)
  9.    *  Recompile with SAS/C 6.0 to reduce size / improve speed.
  10.    *  Intuition interference for GamePort 1 Pin 9 has been removed.
  11.    *  No longer requires user to hit 'RETURN' on a normal exit.
  12.    *  New window layouts.
  13.    *  Multitasking friendly. Analyzer now properly asks for hardware before
  14.          using it. If it cannot get a certain piece of hardware, that
  15.          test's gadget will appear ghosted, and that test may not be run.
  16.    *  Stdio window does not open from Workbench unless an error occurs.
  17.    *  All around aesthetic improvements.
  18.    *  All tests will now run until stopped, letting you check overnight.
  19.          I have had a request for batch runs (i.e. running multiple tests
  20.          overnight) and the ability to run partial tests (i.e. just the
  21.          TXD<->RXD Serial check) continuously, and will have those in the
  22.          next release.
  23.    *  All tests except the Memory test will let you select the
  24.          informational gadgets (HELP, ABOUT, ERRS) while the test is
  25.          running.
  26.    *  System Configuration screen added to show hardware installed in a
  27.          system.
  28.    *  Audio tester added. This plays a scale on each of the four audio
  29.          channels, allowing you to listen for problems.
  30.    *  Memory tester now displays the type of memory for any block to help
  31.          identify the location of any problems (i.e. chip memory, fast
  32.          memory,etc.).
  33.    *  Memory tester now uses more patterns, and thus catches more errors.
  34.    *  Memory tester should now work properly with CPU Caches enabled.
  35.    *  Memory tester now lets you scroll the lists while the test is
  36.          running.
  37.    *  Disk tester now lets you select HELP while the test is running.
  38.    *  Drive buttons in the Disk tester now properly match the select state
  39.          of the drive.
  40.    *  Disk tester now lets you select the ERRS gadget to get a list of
  41.          possible errors while the test is running.
  42.    *  Some holes in the Parallel Port tester that allowed certain errors
  43.          to slip by undetected have been closed.

  45. Version 1.11 (Released December 30, 1992)
  46.    *  Fixed bug in disk checker. It was checking 80 tracks, which turned
  47.          out to be only 40 cylinders. Now checks the entire disk (high
  48.          density support will be in 1.2, due soon).
